And the REAL title is ...
During our livestream Sunday with Steve and Baron I noted that Steve called the book "The Battle for Thuneworld". Apparently I've been messing up the title!
Book THREE is "Return to ..." (You'll have to wait for that information!)
Steve is writing, penciling, lettering, and inking Thuneworld. We have a great editor on board, our Gourmando hardcover designer is returning, and Glenn Whitmore is currently scheduled for coloring as funding allows.
I just finished formatting the script and adding the title page ... and updating the title (scroll down for samples from the publication!)
WE ARE NOW PROCESSING THE PERSONALIZED HARDCOVERS AND THE DOUBLE SIGNED HARDCOVERS.
We hope to get these out in the next 2 weeks. I'll keep posting updates. Thank you for your support!
SUMMARY FOR "THE BATTLE FOR THUNEWORLD"
Originally meant as just a simple bonus, "The Battle for Thuneworld" Ashcan #1 is pretty amazing. It's 40 pages, includes 19 script pages (14 actual pages) , 19 lettered and ink story pages, 1 page of thumbnails and pencils to fill out the book plus an introduction written by Steve. All content is the original, unedited version. Get a glimpse into the creative process! BONUS - you get to help support the creation of more new Nexus!
Paper used is the same we use for our sketchbooks so thicker stock, archival safe and overall worthy of being a COLLECTOR's EDITION. Cover is in full color and interior is all black and white.
What is an ashcan, you ask? Here's a quick summary
In the 1930's , an ashcan was a protype comic that was used to secure title copyrights. Rather than take the time to develop new characters or plots to go with the new title, a publisher simply took pages from a previous comic book and pasted the new title on the cover.
The concept of the ashcan was given a more modern meaning in 1984 when one comic book creator produced a limited number of black and white prototype comics for his friends and staff. In more recent times, several publishers have released small runs of ashcans in a variety of sizes and colors as promotional items for the full-production versions.

BARON AND RUDE LIVE AT 10:30 AM PST
Mike and Steve signed the hardcover books yesterday!
Mike and Steve signed and personalized the hardcover books yesterday and did a short (2 minute) livestream. They will be doing a longer one today at 10:30 am PST from Steve's studio in sunny Arizona.
Shout out thanks to Mark Schweikert and Robert Baker who were kind enough to come do all the heavy lifting for us! Each of those boxes they hauled around weighs 50 pounds!
We will be shipping those out as quickly as we can. To date we have spent $2,800 on shipping supplies (boxes, bubble wrap, tape, labels, etc) and $3,000 on postage with another $3,000 in postage estimated to get the books out the door.
Thundworld is being funded by our various Kickstarter/Indiegogo campaigns and Patreon. The 40 page Thuneworld Ashcan #1 includes 19 inked/unedited story pages, the original script for those pages and several pencil progress pages.
The projected cost of Thuneworld is $125,000-150,000. To ensure we have funding for this massive project we are offering an amazing opportunity to see the work in progress in a series of 8½x11" Collector's Edition Ashcans! A size large enough to appreciate it without being overwhelming. High quality printing on the same stock we use for our annual sketchbooks.

First "Coming of Gourmando" news - We've gotten nearly all the USA orders out the door! Thanks to everyone who participated in the commission and art sale we had 2 weeks back which funded getting those books out.
HOW TO DRAW THE ANIMATED NEXUS - LIVE
Kickstarter slightly delayed the project while we fixed a small mistake in the project, but it's been approved and going live at 3PM PST (5 minutes!
The first day special has been extended to end of day Saturday and weekend special extended to end of day Monday.

We got out another 125 orders this week! I just sent a USPS pickup for tomorrow for 900 pounds of mail! Mike Baron will be here on Saturday to sign the Hardcover books then those will start shipping.

The Animated Nexus/Thuneworld Kickstarter is set to launch in just an hour! Kickstarter is taking their time approving the project but as soon as its approved it will go live. We will extend the first day special to cover a full 24 hours.
Gourmando Shipping: More than 50% of Orders Out

First off, THANK YOU for all your support while we all suffered through 6 + weeks of COVID. Even while sick we managed to get around 50 orders out the door. Each book is 10 pounds and we are bubble wrapping each to prevent damage during shipping. Each order is hand checked and wrapped with care. This takes a little longer, but everyone should receive a damage free order.
SHIPPING UPDATE
Saturday's outgoing batch was 63 orders! That's more orders stacked on the table ready for packing.
To date we have shipping over 100 orders out. With Steve COVID sick (and still not feeling great) we started with the unsigned orders and Limited Edition books without personalization.
Steve has been feeling well enough to sign and start sketching so he's currently working on sketches inside the books and getting books signed.

We're trying to schedule Mike to come out the weekend of October 9th which is also the launch weekend for the newly updated Draw the Animated Nexus 2021 book!
DRAW NEXUS KICKSTARTER
We will be re-running the Kickstarter with a few additions OCTOBER 7-21, 2021
Including a bonus oversized ashcan of Thuneworld - Part 1 of 3. These will only be available via Kickstarter or Indiegogo and will be spread out over our next 3 campaigns. It will include pencils for the first 30+ pages along with that section of script. We will be using the Thuneworld Ad for this cover and will create new covers for parts 2 and 3.
The T-Shirt design is finished. We are taking votes on colors and designs
